MTV Base Meets…With MTN is a groundbreaking multimedia young empowerment campaign and television series devised by pan-African entertainment platform, MTV Base, and Africa’s leading mobile operator, MTN.
The initiative creates a unique platform for African youth to ask important questions directly to important influencers and world leaders in a candid and intimate forum.
Our thought leaders are chosen based on YOUR feedback. They are individuals who can inspire, motivate and stimulate thoughts and discussion resulting in positive life changing decisions.
MTV Base Meets… with MTN has interviewed philanthropists, musicians, heads of state, politicians, mavericks, business moguls and contemporary world icons.
We choose aspirational and articulate youth from around African between the ages of 16 and 25. We meet them through our website and mobi site, social networking, youth clubs and organizations.
Panelists come from across the African continent. They have included musicians, investment bankers, students, designers, film makers, journalists, actors, humanitarians, models, dancers, entrepreneurs and poets.
The opportunity for our panellists to sit down and interview some of the most powerful people in the world is the most important aspect of the MTV Meets … with MTN campaign. They choose the burning questions most relevant to their lives and their situations. Some want advice on careers, business, success and life experience. Others want to know more about our thoughts leaders’ opinion on a wide variety of subjects or their personal beliefs.
MTV Base Meets with MTN films all over the African continent and all over the world. Panelists have to be from the African continent and aged between 16 and 25 years old.

Season 1 of MTV Base Meets…With MTN was presented by a number of different MTV VJs (TV presenters) including Cynthia C-VON Okpala (Nigeria) who interviewed President Johnson-Sirleaf, and Sizwe Dhlomo (South Africa) who interviewed Julius Malema and Alicia Keys. Season 2 will be presented by Sizwe Dhlomo and Vanessa Mdee.

MTN has a long tradition of youth empowerment and MTV Base Meets…With MTN is a powerful way of extending its support for youth empowerment.
